| Welcome to the Now Playing Reviews Database where
you can find our opinion of films which have had a cinema release in the UK.
Each of these movies are reviewed from a gay perspective, giving them
both an overall star rating plus our exclusive gay rating. The more stars out of a possible 10, the
better the film; similarly the more pink triangles, the greater the gay interest. A full list of
all our reviews appears below, and this week's current films are found on the Now Playing Main Page.
Most films are now available for rent on DVD and we recommend
ScreenSelect who operate an efficient online rental service by post with no late fees
and you can keep up to 3 DVDs for as long as you like.
If you'd like a film permanently in your DVD collection, then the best prices are
normally found at Amazon.

2 Fast 2 Furious
Movie Rating:
Max Power Readers Only |
|
In this action-packed sequel to 2001's The Fast and the Furious, ex-L.A.
cop Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) and his childhood pal, Roman Pearce (Tyrese),
go undercover as drivers for Miami drug lord Carter Verone (Cole Hauser).
Although they're hired to deliver laundered money to Verone, in reality the plan is
to turn him over to federal customs agents - that is, if he doesn't kill them
first.

With a ridiculous story, occasionally sadistic violence, and ham-fisted dialogue
delivered by actors who appear to have learned their lines
phonetically, this lame follow-up sorely misses the charisma of Vin Diesel, who
co-starred in the original. However, Max Power readers will delight in the many
muscle cars, drag races, and highway chases, and in the metallic
crunch of autos crashing.
