| The movie benefits from a running thread of loopy humour and breathtaking action set pieces, enhanced by top-of-the-line special effects and Woo-Ping Yuen's wirework choreography. Unfortunately, the blend of comic-book heroics, portentous philosophy, and myriad subplots adds up to an empty exercise in style and a convoluted story that even die-hard Matrix fans may find inscrutable. |
