| Welcome to the Now Playing Reviews Database where
you can find our opinion of films which have had a cinema release in the UK.
Each of these movies are reviewed from a gay perspective, giving them
both an overall star rating plus our exclusive gay rating. The more stars out of a possible 10, the
better the film; similarly the more pink triangles, the greater the gay interest. A full list of
all our reviews appears below, and this week's current films are found on the Now Playing Main Page.
Most films are now available for rent on DVD and we recommend
ScreenSelect who operate an efficient online rental service by post with no late fees
and you can keep up to 3 DVDs for as long as you like.
If you'd like a film permanently in your DVD collection, then the best prices are
normally found at Amazon.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
Movie Rating:
Bold and Surprising |
|
Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the Terminator, a
robot from the future, who
in this installment sets out to fulfill the mission he
started in the first
two movies: to deliver a now-grown John Connor (Nick
Stahl) to his destiny as
leader of a resistance movement against
world-destruction-causing machines.

|
In
this strangely fitting final chapter, the aging of the
Terminator is part of
the plot, not something the film tries to work
against. Indeed, his new
nemesis, a young, ruthless, technologically advanced
female terminator (Kristanna
Loken), out-terminates him everywhere she goes.
Skeptical sequel-phobes can
breathe a sigh of relief, since the jolting movie is
bold, dark, and surprising,
the best of the three Terminator films. With strong
performances from Stahl
and Claire Danes and intense action that's actually
suspenseful, T3 has a
bitter taste missing from other summer movies that try
too hard to please.
