| Welcome to the 17th London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival On Tour |
 |
Once again we were delighted to present the 17th
London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival on Tour. This festival was not only a
celebration of cinema, and queer film-makers' contribution to the art form; it
was also a unique opportunity for us all to come together to take stock -
to think and feel, work out who we are in relation to the rest of the gay
community, and remind ourselves that our culture wasn't always like this,
and that it is changing still.
This year's programme reflected the astounding diversity on offer within
the festival, with eight international features packed full of true and
false rebels, quirky people and precious moments. This was the year of the
short film - Kinderwhores and Boywonders were two programmes to make
you sit up and think.
Very many thanks to all the film-makers, Metro Tartan (Chris Barwick),
Flach Pyramide Int'l (Paul Richer), PPR (Christian Martin and David
Ballantine), Peccadillo Pictures (Tom Abell and Kahloon Loke); bfi Festivals,
Programme Planning, Dispatch and Programme Unit.
