| What are OutUK Profiles? | |
| OutUK has a profile, gallery and message board programme for gay men designed specifically for us. We can create your own set of web pages on the net - a profile page all about you, a gallery for your pictures and your own personal WebBoard so people can send you and your friends messages and pictures. How much info you put on each of the pages is entirely up to you. |

How do I sign up for OutUK Profiles? Simply go to the Sign Up Page and complete the short questionaire. For legal reasons we have to ask you for your real name, email address and age - but none of this information will be made available to anyone else. Once you have sucessfully completed the questions, we'll email you a Password so that you can setup your new OutUK Profile. How do I setup an OutUK Profile? Go to the Log In Page and enter the Username you have chosen and the Password we email to you. From the main OutUK Profile HomePage you can then begin the setup process. You'll have the chance to upload up to 10 of your pictures that'll be displayed in your gallery. Then we'll ask you to answer questions about yourself that'll automatically create your profile page. You can put whatever information on the page you want, and need only answer those questions that you wish to. | |

Do I have to answer all the questions on the Profile Page? No. Answer as many or as few as you wish. Questions not answered will not appear on your profile. Do I have to upload pictures to my OutUK Profile? |

No. If you don't wan't pictures on your OutUK Profile just leave the Picture Upload Form blank and then
press Upload these Pictures as normal. You'll then be asked to confirm that you don't wan't any
pictures on the site.
Are there any restrictions on the pictures I upload? Pictures uploaded to your OutUK Profile must be less than 50kb in size, and should ideally be no more than 500 pixels wide or high. They must be .bmp .gif or .jpg formats and preferably optimised for the net. We want OutUK to be 100% legal. If you break the law by posting illegal, homophobic, harassing or copyrighted material then we will take your site down and may cancel your account. Remember there is no such thing as public domain and you must have written permission for any pictures graphics or text you post that you have not produced yourself. If you are aware of users abusing these profiles by posting illegal material please e-mail profiles@outuk.com and we will respond as quickly as possible. We reserve the right to inform the authorities without warning where child pornography is involved. In the event of any dispute our decision is final. Are there any other restrictions I should know about? Each user is initially allocated 1Mb of space but we reserve the right to increase or decrease this depending on usage. Currently you cannot post video or audio files in any format to maximise server capacity for the entire community. We also limit individual file sizes to 50kb to ensure that pages download at a reasonable speed. Also accounts that remain inactive or where no page has been uploaded may be deleted after 30 days. We also reserve the right to suspend accounts which consume an excessive amount of bandwidth. In these cases users will be contacted by e-mail in order to resolve the situation. | |

What will the URL of my Profile be? Your new OutUK Profile URL will be http://www.username.outuk.com where the username is what you choose at the time of initial sign up. How do I change my password? |

Once you have entered the management section of the OutUK Profiles via the Log In Page please then go
to Account Information and then Change Password. You'll
need to enter your old password and then the new one you want to use twice.
How do I change my account details and the name I display on my OutUK Profile? Once you have entered management section of the OutUK Profiles via the Log In Page please then go to Account Information and make any change you wish. You'll need to remake all your pages as described above before changes to the Profile Name or Profile Description take effect. Can I change my profile page during the setup process? Just after you have created your OutUK Profile you'll have the chance to review what you've done. If you press the back button on your browser you can then go back and make changes. Once you close your browser or log out of OutUK Profile it will then be saved. Can I change my pages once they have been saved? | |
| You can remake your OutUK Profile pages at any time. Enter the management section of the OutUK Profiles via the Log In Page and then CLICK HERE TO START to re-create your profile and gallery pages all over again. Alternatively you can choose the option Remake or alter your pages from the Profiles HomePage to remake just your Profile or just your Gallery pages. This menu will offer you the chance to edit the information already entered or start all over again. |

Can I change any of my pages manually? OutUK Profile users who are familiar with html and web design can make use of the File Manager, Web Templates and WebBoard Setup Programmes which are found in the Advanced Users section off the Remake or alter your pages option from the Profiles Homepage. These programmes are easy to use and allow full customisation of your pages. How do I remove unwanted messages on my WebBoard? Go to WebBoard Setup in the Advanced Users section off the Remake or alter your pages option from the Profiles Homepage, and then follow the instructions at the bottom of the page. From this page you can also customise some of the other settings of your OutUK Profile WebBoard. Can I delete all the pages of my OutUK Profile? You can delete your account from the Account Information section which is off the OutUK Profiles HomePage. Please note that all deletions are final.
